When A Female Plays Temple Run?

Temple Run is a hugely successful and popular game available for iOS devices and soon to be made available for Android devices. It has 40 million downloads and counting at the app store on iTunes and it has a staggering 3 million plays every day. Some say that Temple Run is more famous than Zynga. So, anyway, the game is basically a mild toned down version of Indiana Jones or Tomb Raider. It is maybe even a combination of the both; since the initial character that you play with is a man called Guy Dangerous and the objective is to keep running and escape demon monkeys after stealing a golden statue from a temple, which is very Tomb Raider like. It is a highly addictive game and whoever I have come across that plays the game has vouched for that. When I first started playing Temple Run, I did find it boring and maybe because of my ADD, the lack of concentration meant that I couldn't focus on the game and tune my reflexes accordingly. The game starts off at a slow pace and then slo...

Digital Detoxification

Our world has become a place where you will see people walking and instead of looking ahead or up, people will be looking down. They will be looking down at their screens, glued to them and texting away. Before this kind of scene could only be found in movies, where men in suits looking busy, used to be shown walking with their eyes on their phones all the time or where they were shown talking on the phone all the time. Now this can actually be seen in the real world. We have become so obsessed with technology.  These days’ people are tethered to their phones, laptops and electronic devices. It does not stop at business individuals or men, but this phenomenon has extended to women, to guys, to girls and to even kids. It used to be that we human beings ‘used’ our devices and the technology available to us; now it has changed to it being that the technology and devices, control us.  Our lives have become so busy and we are always on the move. Technology has become the norm now...

Cultural Creative Thinker

I am insane. I am at times difficult to handle. I don't make friends easily. I prefer to do things on my own. I observe things and people very closely. I have sharp senses. I don't always follow the rules. I love silence and the dark. I am not different or weird - although if I am either one of those, it really is an honour because I don't want to be like the other mass produced humans on the planet; we do have 7 billion and counting, now. - I am just ME. All those qualities I have noticed are the qualities of creative people. I am a CREATIVE person. Creativity is generally referred to a person having an original thought, who is not shy of breaking the bounds of normal societal behaviour or process of thinking and comes out with something totally different. Creative people in essence, create. They do things which normal people can't do or do not do. That is what makes them stand out. Any person can be creative, but if they don't use their talent and mi...

Anger and Frustration United

The past few days and especially today, I have felt that I am really angry about something, but the problem is, I have no idea what I am angry about. I have never felt this way before. Usually when I am angry, I always know what I am angry about or what is causing me distress. Right now, this is that kind of anger, which I cannot even explain. I have no idea what has gotten in to me, I do not feel like talking to anyone and all the while, I just want to be angry at something, someone or somebody. I feel people are very unreasonable and stupid these days. That is what I feel. People just want other people to listen to them and do things for them, but when it is their turn to listen to other people and do things for other people, they refuse to reciprocate. People have become so selfish, self-absorbed and outright rude these days. I also feel that more and more people just say stuff without even thinking about what they are saying or doing. Do they even know how that makes ...

Why did I become a Humsafar convert?

As a person that avoided Humsafar for as long as possible, but now am a convert, I would just like to say is that this drama is first of all family friendly. It does not have unnecessary glamour in it. It does not have a lot of parallel stories. This drama is not confusing to watch. The story is is basically Khirad and Ashar, with cameo but important appearances from Hareem, Sara, Fareeda and Khizer. Why the drama got so popular? I have thought about it. A) It is a breathe of fresh air from all the other dramas on telly. Honest to god, all I ever see is men cheating on their wives with younger women, divorcing their wives, their wives plotting something bad against them, people drinking alcohol, people committing crimes, people doing something bad and men marrying other women. With Humsafar, there is nothing like that. It just is all about strong performances; from Naveen, from Fawad, from Mahira and from Atiqa Odho. I wouldn't discount Naveen's mum in the serial...

When The Roses Burnt

I find that there are many things that please me, things like going to Candylicious in Dubai Mall for a big Hershey's chocolate bar, getting a Redvelvet Cupcake, calling someone Sunshine, having a BBQ at the beach, going on a road trip with my camera, but the thing that pleases and fascinates me the most is seeing and smelling Rose flowers. This fascination with Roses is almost borderline obsession. I have yet to acquaint myself to the fact, as to why I find Roses the most pleasing. Usually people would count a night out with a loved one or something along these lines, as something that is most pleasing for them; not for me. I have, from as far as I can remember, always had a certain fascination with this specific species of flower. I have no idea why. It is not even that this flower is glamourised a lot in movies or the media and this is why I was susceptible to obtain a liking for it.  Most people when they are young, as children, learn to draw Sunflowers or other normal looking...

Mistakes, Regrets and Experience

Veena Malik after a series of press conferences and interviews, and not to forget 'ALL THE DRAMA', finally said earlier tonight that ‘she committed a big mistake by agreeing to do that FHM shoot’ and then at the same time, posts on her Twitter account, “No one has cheated me the way FHM did…will never forget them!” Get a life Veena. You are a grown woman, unlike what your fake D.O.B on your Twitter BIO suggests. What goes on in the mind of a person like Veena Malik is a mystery; however it is not really hard to decipher the consequences of the actions of a person, with brainless behaviour. Such are the celebrities, or even people of today, who would do anything to gain attention. People literally do anything to gain attention. It has been easier with the advent of social media, to gain attention of loads of people, in the quickest span of time. Even mainstream media has allowed celebrities to give more interviews and appear in more shows which are primarily focused on them. T...
